OK, I'll do it!

Hey, you nappy headed ho's!

Geez, have you ever seen anything blown so far out of proportion? People are dying every day in the worst foreign diplomacy disaster EVER, and this is what people pay attention to. Nobody is saying what Imus said is right, but God, the guy has done everything he can to apologize. I remember listening to Imus in the Morning when I was, like, eight. I listened to it on the little red transistor radio that Me-Me bought for me...my first radio of my own.

Anyway, I'm starting it up now, though it's only three and a half hours 'til the show. We think Melinda was great...screw Simon. Phil should have his bags packed.

I happen to think that Larry Birkhead being the father of ANS is much more important than the Imus thing, yet it had to share the spotlight.

Anyway, yes, Melinda was good and Blake too. I think Haley should go. Overall, I think last night sucked.

I forgot to say - I can't believe you guys are watching Idol now! Yeah, Phil is not so good and not an "Idol", but his voice is better than Haley.

I think Imus sucks and is a poor, poor imitation of Howard Stern. He should be fired b/c he has no ratings, not b/c he is a racist.

What I can't stand the double standard that the media puts out there. VH1 can have a dating show with Flava Flav where women call each other bitches and ho's and every rapper can denigrate black women at every turn.

Then Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson have the gall to ask for an apology and Imus' resignation. I guess they conveniently forget that neither has aplogized or made amends for the Tawana Brawley and "Hymietown" incidents.

Imus would have gotten some respect from me if he had gone on the air and told Rev Al to shove it.
And I know I might be out of the will for this... BUT IT'S WOMEN'S BASKETBALL FOR GOD'S SAKE... No one would have paid any attention to this had Imus not been such an unfunny jerk.

Rap music coined the phrase but we need to realize that it doesn't give us license to repeat it if it
'not our group'. Same rule as we can call each other dork but don't let anyone else call us that. Let's let the media whip themselves into a frenzy. They always do. Then some other issue comes along to rest above the fold. Like what ever happened to the astro'nut' with the space diaper? ANS's death wiped that right off the front page. Lucky for her(not AnnaNicole),
As for really important issues...Haley was going but Phil should have gone first. I'm really liking Blake which is a change for me. Still rooting for Melinda and Jordin. Who is Kelly cheering on now that Gina is gone? I really hope we see Gina down the line. I liked her.
Now for really important stuff. Haley was going but Phil should have gone first.

I should have proof read. Oh well, no time to correct the last comment. Family forgives!

Damn, Haley is gone. No reason to watch anymore. I figured if she kept up her current pace we would see her with pasties and a thong.

Pasties? You're dating yourself, Pete!

I actually haven't even heard anything Imus has done in 30 or so years. However, this "outrage" that is being shown by the African-American community over something so relatively non-offensive in the whole scheme of things is indicative of the type of PC reaction that is responsible for the erosion of free speech in this country. It amazes me that people can be so willing and able to simply hand over their constitutional rights in the name of national security and political correctness. The censorship of our language, especially when particular groups of people are not "allowed" to use certain words, is frightening to me.

Jay, you're totally right about Jackson and Sharpton. Since when have they been representing the moral highground by their insipid behavior?

If we start censoring creativity, where will it stop? Our polly-annish society needs to get off of its moral high horse and get a sense of humor, for God's sake.

We might be heading toward a world where Miss Haley would not be allowed to dress like that on national television. It's not so hard to imagine. That world exists now, just not in America...yet.

Anyway, we're watching Idol because we don't want to miss Sanjaya being voted off! What a talentless ham that guy is. Was it OK for the Idol folks to try to make him look Latino with the curly hair and the cheezy goatee? Now that's offensive!

BTW, Peggy, haven't you seen some of Sanjaya's other get ups? He has a 'fashion' statement every week.
