Bowersox

Believe it or not I will be seeing the one and only Crystal Bowersox at Power to the Peaceful in San Francisco on Sept 11th. She is in the line up of bands playing at the festival. It is kind of weird. HAHA Hope everyone is well!

Finals

It was going to take a big night for Crystal for me to change my mind...and she brought it! She blew Lee out of the box tonight. Poor guy was a bundle of nerves, plus he got screwed on the song choices. (REM and U2--for his voice???)

I still think he will make it just fine, as will Crystal, but Crystal is my choice after tonight. Only voted once.

Just some pictures.... Me at my 1/2 marathon. Will learned to ride a 2 wheel bike today. I can't believe it! He is only 3.5 and off he went. Nate had opening day for t-ball. He is on the RED SOX!! Hope everyone is doing well! Love You!

Idol, 2010...

I"VE TAKEN LEAVE OF MY SENSES!!!!!

You'll never guess what I just made arrangements to do! Go to a Dude Ranch. Friends of ours have been going to Ridin'Hy Ranch in the Adirondacks yearly, for 40 years (we have old friends) and they have been telling us about it for the last couple years.A couple of nights ago, a group of us were talking at dinner and one thing led to another(and a couple glasses of wine later) we decided to check it out as a possible place to take the grandchildren sometime. The picture of the Adirondack chairs on the lakefront caught my eye! Eight of us are going up for three days in mid June. Time will tell if I end up on a horse. I can guarantee that most of my friends will be in those Adirondack chairs keeping the wine cold! I hope the kids will think it is a cool place to go. Or is it all downhill after DisneyWorld?

Idol!

OK, we are almost caught up on our Idol Tivo's! We like Crystal a lot, and the Indie girl with the blonde hair. For the guys we like Big Mike, Casey, and Lee (Lee is my favorite). But Crystal just rocks. I'm glad they bleached her teeth :)

It's a snowy Super Bowl Sunday. Wish the Jets were there in sunny Miami. Oh well. We're going with the Saints.

Speaking of the Olympics...

We brought Nate and Will to our local ski area today for their first ski lesson. $250 dollars later we had 1 kid that took off his gear within 10 minutes and another that did pretty well. Nate enjoyed himself and was getting the hang of the "pizza" aka the snowplow. Will is just a bit too young, but he would have freaked out if we only let Nate try. Poor kid was a bit disappointed in himself. We told him he could try again next year.

COUNTDOWN TO THE OLYMPICS

I watched the US Figure Skating Championships today . Gearing up for Vancouver! Can't wait to see what Canada comes up with for the opening ceremonies. After Bejing I'm not sure anything will ever compare.
My favorite event is Women's Figure Skating, but after that I'm looking forward to the snow boarding. Remember Dorothy Hamill? How long did we wear 'the Wedge'?

I need a maid...

How in the world can a little house get so dirty in just five days? Michael is pretty tidy in general, and the house is still a mess. Maybe I can get a maid through disability!! We should have built in one of those systems that vacuums the house for you. Has anybody used an "air cleaner" before?

software. Nice to see someone who knows what they

WHERE DOES A YEAR GO?

They say that time goes faster as you age and I definitely subscribe to that theory. Twelve months ago I was counting down the days to going to my happy place with two of my favorite guys. That's sounding kind of kinky until you realize that I was referring to going to Disney World with Nate and Cole. Now a year later I find myself on the same countdown to trying to recreate one of the 'funnest' weeks I ever had. Those two boys kept us laughing all week and I can only hope that a year later they will continue the tradition!
Lots has transpired in the last year but the things that stand out are the times we've spent with family. I only wish there were more days in the week! Then time might not disappear so quickly. It is the memories created during those times that stay in my heart and mind. Having just celebrated another Christmas I can honestly say that the memories are the most treasured gifts. Making ornaments with the boys, the gifts that they made and wrapped and were so proud to give. Those are the moments I savour.
I think we all have favorite memories of a time spent with a special grandparent, parent or aunt or uncle.
