So yesterday was my birthday and of course we had a birthday cake. Without question we have Carvel ice cream cake. It is not a Birthday in our house without it. It has to be carvel, nothing else will do. The crunchies are the best part.
So the question is - What is your favorite cake or what is something you always have or do on your birthday?

I think I associate birthdays and Carvel cakes because that was always what you guys seemed to want. I love white cake (not yellow)with dark chocolate frosting, though. Has to be homemade. I can easily pass on bakery cake and grocery store cake. Now if you want to talk creme' brulee....
But when I was really young, I loved Angel food cakes. Gram or Me-me would make one for me. We would go over and David would say "nobody made you a cake, they don't love you." But it would be in the kitchen upside down on a bottle cooling.
For real, David used to say that. HJ. I grew up thinking grammy didn't like me.

And I did love you then and I love you now.
My favorite cake is dark chocolate with fudgy chocolate icing. Hmm Good.
Me-Me used to beat those egg whites for, like, ten minutes. She said that was the secret. I remember it used to hurt her arm after her surgery.
Last year I told Michael he could have any cake he wanted for his birthday. He chose Red Velvet cake with Cool Whip icing (something from his childhood). Can you believe? I made it for him because it was his birthday, so it was his choice.
Our tongues were red for two days...and that's not the only thing that turned red. It was scary.
My favorite is carrot cake with real cream cheese icing. -M says vegetables don't belong in cake
:( He says this year he won't choose Red Velvet, but some Chocolate Chip Cinnamon Cake his mom makes. Guess I'd better get the recipie!

My favorite birthday cake is Carvel. Yum.. the crunchies.
But my favorite cake is a Blackout Cake. Chocolate crumbs on the outside. Chocolate frosting and Chocolate cake with chocolate fudge/mousse filling in the middle.
Can you tell I'm craving Chocolate? Jason made Fudgy Brownies with Cole this weekend. After having 1-2 (ok, maybe 3) I now have to ask J to hide them from me.
