I need a maid...

How in the world can a little house get so dirty in just five days? Michael is pretty tidy in general, and the house is still a mess. Maybe I can get a maid through disability!! We should have built in one of those systems that vacuums the house for you. Has anybody used an "air cleaner" before?

It is amazing how dirty a house can get in a short time.
No,I never used a air cleaner. How does that work?
I'm so old school. I live in a vacuum.

God Gram, I can't imagine your house is ever dirty. With 2 (3) Kids, 2 cats, and a dog my house is a mess before the cleaning ladies even leave. And they only come every FEW MONTHS at this point. What kind of air cleaner? Like an air purifier? We have one in the basement that works pretty well.

Yeah, like one that recycles the air in the room and picks up dust and dander and that kind of thing. I've seen some where you can just clean the filter with water instead of buying new ones all of the time. We live in a house made of mud, on the mesa, and heat the house with wood. It is amazing how much dust I can sweep up in one day!

Tomorrow is the big day. The Jets can't possibly break our hearts again. You're right, Mom...you got to Believe!!

Heather, before you were born,a neighbor ,who lived next to us on Birch Hill, was not a good housekeeper. And I was always cleaning and often didn't seem to have time for the kids.
Jonathan, her son, told me that his Mom was the best Mom in world and proceeded to tell me all the good things she did with him.

Brought me up short!
So a clean house is not something
kids care about. And your kids are
going to remember the things you do with them.Like skiing etc.

Don and I always say that we'd trade a little mud for some little voices in the house. Kind of like that comic strip "Family Circle". Heather, I always knew you were good with kids but you are an amazing Mom. Set your own standards. But I do hear you about the 'house is a mess before the cleaning lady leaves' issue. When Don is in retirement mode, I never get to see the house fully clean and neat all at one time because he is at home and wears blinders.
