The Dems would have to really screw up BIG TIME to lose this years election. McCain has an upward battle on his hands and I believe the fighting will get very dirty. I'm glad Obama quit the firey reverand. GO-BA-MA!!!!!
McCain already started at him last night, but what a lame speech that was! Could he have been any more lackluster?
I thought Obama's speech was very moving. I'll skip what I think of the Hillster right now. She may become his running mate, and we'll have to "break bread," as Donna Brazile says.
It is really nice to see a politician actually win while running on a positive campaign. His central theme throughout this whole process was to appeal to what "we have in common as Americans", to appeal to the "hopes and dreams that we share" rather than focus on what "divides us". I believe strongly that this will win the day.
McLame was just that .... Lame. He looked as though he was presiding over a bingo event at the local VFW hall. What a freakin joke. Contrasted against the Obama event it was laughable. Even the idiots at Fox news didn't know what to say. Just hit this link for some laughs:

The ridiculous distractions and name calling will undoubtedly come from the repuglicans. Largely because it is all they have to run on.
Think about; Iraq, Economy, Environment, Health Care, Energy Policy, Lobbyist, Civil Rights, Gov't Reform, Education....all loser issues for the Republicans. They have screwed up so badly in the past years that people may have finally come to realize that you should not elect people whose central argument is that "Government is bad". Don't be surprised when they suck at governing. Seems kind of obvious, but sometimes Americans need to be reminded every so often.
Unfortunately, I think the repugs will run on name calling; "liberal elite" "terrorist appeaser" and "radical" can already be heard on the Faux News Channel to describe Obama. Not to mention that they will work hard to divide the country along economic and racial lines. But, Americans will be too smart this time. The Obama campaign has created a real movement for change and will be too savvy to allow Americans to fall for these lame old tricks.
As a democrat, I was appalled. Prior to this primary, I did not understand why so many people hated Hillary and the Clintons. Now I get it. Throughout her campaign she has proven to be classless and ungracious at every turn. And she lived up to this label on Tuesday night. In the end I have come to view her much like historians view Nixon. As a narcissistic megalomaniac that does not understand the limits of their power. As Maureen Dowd said yesterday in the NYT, "usually after denial comes acceptance, unless you're the Clintons".
Fortunately, the Obama campaign has said that it is "highly unlikely" that she will be chosen as VP. That is a nice way of saying, "no f-in way are we going to bring that psycho and all her baggage into our campaign". Well, there I have vented about Hillary. Maybe I will feel better in November. P
I think ungracious is an entirely appropriate term. When they lost the White House eight years ago they hung around and hung around until it was evident that they intended to steal Bush's limelight. After all, like it or not, it was his day not the Billary's. There were more going away receptions than there were inaugural balls. I voted for Bill both times and never thought that what went on under his desk changed his abilities. However, I really think Hillary is dangerously paranoid and I would have hated to vote for her. Obama is the man!
Today is Friday, the 6th. Last night, Obama and the Hillster had a "secret" meeting and I hope he set her straight. I am truly shocked that she is not planning on turning over her delegates, as she has simply "suspended" her campaign. If you go to her website, she still asks for $$ right off the bat. What, does she think something is going to happen to Obama while she waits in the wings?
I am shocked by the Clinton supporters that say they are going to vote for McLame (I like that) now that Hillary is out. Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Hopefully, time will heal and those swing voters will see the huge differences between the two. And thank goodness for my nephew-in-law that saved me from the extreme guilt I would now be feeling had I cast my vote for Hillary. Michael says I still have a soft spot for her. I guess I'd better keep it on reserve in case Hill becomes Obama's running mate. I hope he can do it without her though.
One thing sports did teach us was not to be a sore loser!
Sorry to all the Repubs in the family. I think the Dems outnumber you guys here in Blogland. :)

One last point regarding Hillary. WTF?!?
