I am sorry to see Joe Torre leave the Yankees. Seriously. He is the classiest man in baseball. As a Yankee Hater, you still could never find a negative word to say about Joe. Yankee ownership should be embarrassed and ashamed of themselves. They really gave Joe no choice. One year with a 2 million pay cut and incentives. Guaranteed extensin with WS appearance...what kinda crap is that? So Joe could deal with another year of questions about his future..he is too good for that.
Cashman and Levine should be on the hook for their stupid overayment of the bottle rocket. 20 million for a .500 recod and an era over 6. Not to mention that he was unable to get past three innings in the ALDS. Lets not forget the other stupid contracts given to Giambi, Pavano, and the countless pitchers that didn't last more than a season or had crappy results. I know you can list them; Johnson, Contreras(they should have kept), Jared Wright(damaged goods)..etc..etc. Why is that Cashman has not had to answer for his terrible decisions with pitchers? How is it that the guy who manages to get a team to battle back from 14.5 down to make the playoffs gets squeezed? How do yankee fans root for this team?
Good for Joe. He deserves much better than to put up with the demeaning and belittling management style that comes from the yankee front office. He was only showing up due to his loyalty to players like Jeter, Posada and Rivera. I guess that is over. Sorry yankee fans but this must be a dark day in your history, fankly its a dark day for baseball. They essentially pushed out a hall of fame manager that had 12 straight post season appearances with 6 pennants and 4 WS rings. Find me anyone with a better track record in the post free agency era. How sick are you guys of hearing all of the sports commentators starting every sentence with, "Tom Brady..."? You'd think the guy was God or something. Manning is SO superior to him. And Pennington, well, then there's Pennington. What are we going to do, Jetties?

BTW, Tom Brady IS having an insanely good year. Not that I really care about him or the Pats, but as a casual football fan, there is no denying that this guy is on pace for some historic stuff.
Just like a Mets fan to spend his whole off season worried and talking about the YANKEES! As much as I LOVE TORRE I have heard this rant before. Same was said after Martin, Howser, Yogi, and Showalter. How could you and Why? Baseball is about winning AL championships. It's abotu WSC Not just making the playoffs. Torre is the BEST at handeling the superstars. Well the Yankees are about to get young. And fast. Not sure Torre is the best at re-building a team. Sometime you just have to hope for the best. How would it look if Torre loses 80 gamaes re-building this team next year. He would be run out of town by the media and fans. I guess winning 26 WSC makes you expect to win, not just almost get there. Mets fans might be satisfied by that, but not Yankees fans. So again, I LOVE TORRE. And I HATE the way we "Offered him a contract". But I am not sure it was in the cards for him to try to rebuild the Yankees. All this talk will be mute after we win it all next year. And "DIE REDSUX" I hate you and your fracking dirty city. Just thought I would throw that in. And a big thanks to you Mets fans. Your colapse this year is making this so much easier. You make a great point about the youth movement in the bronx. It looks as though Girardi has the job. He is a great fit for a young team..just look at his work in Florida of 2006.
About Torre, all i am saying is how do you replace this guy. Maybe they should dig up Casey Stengel?

Just like we have ALWAYS hated the Red Sox! That's nuthin' new in Yankeeland.
Yeah, but not like this. I have never heard a Boston Sucks chant in Yankee Stadium. I suspect that may be coming. My point is that the level of hatred toward the Sox has changed. In the past they were fun for yankee fans to beat up on because they never really felt threatened. Well, thats all over now.

Its too bad about the Jets. They are back to playing for the first round pick. With their luck, they will win just enough to insure nothing higher than the third pick. I thought it sucks being a Mets fan, but it really must not be easy being green.
About this football season, is there a collection of worse QB's in any given year. I mean outside of Brady and Manning, there is a league field with hacks.

Boom had it right when he said that the Jetties had another "come from ahead loss"! We just can't hold a lead. At least the QB change showed some spark early on.
Now if only the Raiders would try out Jamarcus Russell. I can't believe they pulled Culpepper for their second-string wimpy evangelist bible-thumper. It can't hurt to try out Russell...that division is so bad that the Raiders could still take it if they start winning.
It does look as if the Jetties are playing for a draft pick at this point, though.
