I miss Thurman Munson...and Mickey Rivers...and Catfish Hunter (signature on my first mitt)...and, well, you know. :(

Those names bring up memories for me - I remember when I was really little (4 or 5 maybe) saying I wanted to be Mickey Rivers Jr. (too bad he was a black male) and calling Thurman Munson, Herman Munster.
I miss Reggie and Bucky. A few years ago they got the entire 1976-78 team together before the Old Timers Day game. That was the team that held me together in those years. Yeah I cried a tear or two. So last year when I got a chance to meet Mickey Rivers and Yogi Berra, I could hardly speak. It is one thing to meet George Romero, but to have a drink with Yogi, priceless. This year I get to meet Whitey Ford, and Phil Rizzuto. Living the dream.
And no worries Heather. Peggy use to think she was "The Fonz".
I bet, "I am the Fonz" is still carved in that rock that stuck up in the path leading to the front steps. "Hey, Whoa, See ya, Whatever, Sit on it, You dig? Talk about a dee dee dee. Dave, you SOB.
I remember, about six years ago, shooting pool in an old timers bar up in Raton, NM. One grisly guy was wearing a Yankees cap. The way I got in with those crusty old guys and shot pool all night was that I was the only one who could name, including positions, the entire 1978 Yankees team. :) Go Yankees!

Actually, I should correct that...starting lineup, not the whole team, of course. Though, maybe someone in the family could...not me, though.
