...and Idol Comes to a Close

I have to admit that I was really liking David Cook toward the end there. However, last night showed that Archuleta had what it took when it really counted.

I won't mind seeing him crowned the winner tonight.  Like Randy said...he was "on fire, baby!"  What a doll.

Didn't we all call it from the get go? I could listen to David sing all day and all night. I've downloaded everything I could from the Idol studio releases. I too was liking DC but Archuletta peaked and came to win last night.
I'll miss watching Idol on T/W nights. What will replace it? So You Think You Can Dance?
I won't even entertain the notion that DC would walk away with the title but I guess anything is possible. Go Arch!!!

Peg - I told Mom and Gram this weekend that they had ruined AI and AI has not had a winner that made much of their careers since they (and other older people started watching). But I do think DA will do better as a winner than DC would. DC just won't be a credible "rocker". And is not godlooking like Daughtry to get young woman to swoon. DA will atleast sell to the Red Hatters.

Have you forgotten the sound of Velcro ripping? Hey, this way I know I like David Archuletta. How would I know whether I like Smashing Pumpkins or Ten Penny Nails? Rotten Cranberries? Where do these names come from? I once had a friend who was in a band called Split-Worm Hibernation Day Band. He is also the person (Skip Morrow) who wrote the original "I hate Cats" book. Wonder what ever happened to him. Now I'll have to Google him. Sounds kinky, huh?

I'm rooting for "Archie".
I voted and voted and voted for him last night. Talk, redial and off.Talk, redial and off.
He nailed it last night.I was beginning to sway abit. But last night was awesome. Where do I line up to buy his first CD? Or maybe I'll just order it online like the rest of the old ladies.Easier on the knees.
Can hardily wait until tonight.
Get the Chex ready!!

My jaw is STILL on the floor this morning! I cannot believe it. Even though we all said that David Cook was growing on us, I for one would not buy a CD of his. I'm hoping that David will be another Clay Aiken...second place but a success all the same. Someone said the producers are happy that they won't have to deal with the father. Hey..if he can keep the kid from becoming another Brittany Spears all the power to him. We would not do less for our kids.
Anyway...last night I was swearing I'd never watch again but today I wish another season would begin next week.
HOW COULD WE ALL(except Heather says she was for DC)HAVE BEEN SO WRONG?

I still can't believe it...but then again, I can. We might have dismissed Archie's "gosh, golly, gees" as sweet, but no matter how good his voice, that innocence bugged some people.

Like Michael! All week he kept imitating Mr. T and going, "Archuleta, you're going down, and not a moment too soon!" He thought DA was boring.

Maybe it's because he repeated, albeit well, one of the songs he already did. Maybe it was the Dad thing. Maybe it was Simon's enthusiastic kiss of death. Maybe it's because he's half-Mexican. Maybe it's because the guy who was in charge of the vote count thought it was season seven. Who knows?

I liked them both and think they will both do well. They are already racking in the bucks for doing a Guitar Hero commercial, huh?

Mom, just go on iTunes and you can download the songs and make a CD. Deb can probably show you how, right Deb? Actually, tell me you don't have all those songs already!! Burn Mom a CD, will ya?

Mets fans, Jets fans, Archuleta fans...ahh, the agony of defeat.

We'll get it next year!

Maybe it's us who are the Kiss of Death and not Simon. We love the losers! I'm still shaking my head this afternoon. Everyone who I know who watches AI was an Archuletta fan. BUT...many of them may not have voted thinking David was a shoe in. Or they were just not voters. We don't really know what the results were in the last twelve weeks as to who was the TOP vote getter. Maybe Cook was in the lead all along and we were led to believe DA was the top dog.
Whatever...and yes, I have most all of the performances and will burn a few CDS.

I am with Michael - DA was boring. Same thing every week. Yes, his voice was nice, but booooring!!!!

Mom - you live in a retirement community, everyone you know is old!!! AI demographic, I think not. LOVE YA!!!!

You're cruisin'! I read this morning about a Cook fan, a 42 year old soccer mom (supposedly a Cook voting block?)who voted 743 times. We who live in ACTIVE ADULT communities are MUCH too busy to vote 743 times for anything but increased Social Security checks. I hope she used up her free minutes!
The article said that it was actually the Soccer Moms and over 50 set that was voting for Cook. They pegged Archuletta's block at the 12-17 set which had lost viewers in that age group this year. They did confirm a change in the viewers as a whole since AI has increased viewers in the over 50 set.
Anyway...what's next? At least McDreamy and Meredith got back together!!!!
