He's growing up!

Nate had his first day of preschool today. Things went well, and he liked his teachers. They even played Bob Marley for him. Of course, the first thing he said to me was "I cried ALOT, Mommy". When I asked the teacher she laughed - he cried for about 15 seconds. Talk about laying the guilt on thick. Anyway, I thought I would attach a couple of pictures from his first day a couple of years ago too. My little boy is growing up.

What's he packing in that backpack?
How big he's getting. He's going to be jaded though...two days of school and then a week's vacation. I hope he and his buddy Cole have fun together. Don't let them kick sand at Will. Take lots of pictures. And don't forget the traditional one of Nate and Cole from the back looking/walking towards the ocean.
Have fun!

Total cutie pie. You guys are probably at the beach right now! We're dropping into the 40's at night and starting the yearly winterizing (trucks maintained, chimney swept, roof sealed, plus the ongoing chopping of wood). Lucky for us, this year Michael can cut our wood up at the ranch, so we won't have to pay to heat our house this winter (except for the carbon offsets that we purchase and donate to a wind power plant in CO).

Chile roasting time is HERE! The smell permeates the whole town and I've frozen a bushel of the hottest Hatch chiles we could find.

Dave, my veggie chile rocks. You like it hot??
