So as if the NY Jets and the NJSEA (New Jersey Sports and Exhibition Authority) haven't killed our pocket books over the last few years, they do it again. The Jets and Giants have gotten the NFL and probably the tax payers to fork over a bunch of money to build a new stadium. Which we aren't to unhappy about (no longer playing in GIANTS stadium, maybe some neutral colored seats, etc)
But here is the hitch. While the new stadium is being built, obviously there are going to be less parking spots. SO... as season ticket holders we have the wonderful opportunity (read:requirement) to pre pay for parking for all 10 games (yes, we have to buy parking for the 2 preseason games that we already pay for tix for that we NEVER attend). If you don't buy the prepaid parking, you will NOT be allowed into the lot and will have to park at a satellite parking lot and be bus-ed over to the stadium. Also, you only get 1 pass per 4 seats. Therefore we can never go in seperate cars unless we get more passes.
Oh well, only 2-3 more years until the price of the seats is too much anyway......

So how much is the parking?
$15 bucks a game per car
What if you only own two seats(as in yours and Ken's case)? That is what you call BOHICA.
15 bucks per game for 1-4 tickets... only now Kenny has all the tickets in his name... ours and Doug/David's 4.... so he has 6 which means we are in for 2 parking passes. $300 bucks....
We were paying $15 bucks per car to park at the Raiders games back in the 80's, Jay! Can you tailgate in the satellite lot?

Hi to all "Bleed Green" Jet Fans -
The newly instituted parking passes are 1 pass for every 5 tickets in the account (ie 1-5 tockets = 1 pass; 6-10 tickets = 2 passes; 50+ tickets = 10 passes max.), and no buying extra passes.
Also, it is anyones guess as to if tailgating will be allowed in the satellite lots, and at this point, we don't even know where these lots are - only that they are supposed to be within 2 miles of the stadium.
Hey Jay - I think the second parking pass should be reserved for Walter. Can you imagine Walter taking the shuttle with 5 pounds of peanuts? And besides, he just bought a brand NEW pick-up truck. Not a Walter special, brand new.
For those of us who have not had the opportunity to meet and hangout with Walter - for years, David, Jason and I thought Walter was always stumbling and stuttering drunk by 10 AM on game days. Just a physical matter.
Big Daddy
Its less about the amount of the parking. We've been paying $15 for years. The killer is that
1) you have to pay up front. After paying $950 per seat for the season, they stick it in a little farther for another $300
2) WE ARE PAYING FOR PARKING FOR 2 GAMES THAT WE DON'T GO TO. Might as well take 3 ten dollar bills and light them on fire.
3) We can never ever take 2 cars to the game.
I wonder what the Giants are doing.
Welcome to the NFL. NO FRACKING LOVE league. They have to approve all that shit too! This way only non-fan, fair weather corporate a-holes can go to the game on the light rail from the city. Just remember. Jersey is a shit hole to most of the country. No respect just because both teams play there. Another way to screw Jersey. I say you all go park at the Sheraton the night before, get a suite, tailgate there and take their shuttle over to get dropped off. Don't give the NJSA another dime. I know, easy for me to say. I just hope it doesn't ruin your fun. F#@%#ers. Edited for my mother.
